Past Tense (Preterite) - Morning Verbs

Reflexive Verbs in Past Tense

Many morning routine verbs are reflexive (they have 'se' at the end). In past tense, the reflexive pronoun goes before the verb.

Me levanté a las siete.I got up at seven.
Me bañé después de levantarme.I showered after getting up.
Me cepillé los dientes.I brushed my teeth.

Here are the 'yo' (I) forms you'll use most for talking about your morning.

Desayuné a las ocho.I had breakfast at eight.
Tomé café.I drank coffee.
Comí huevos.I ate eggs.
Fui al trabajo.I went to work.
